Industry specialisms
The College offers a particularly strong level of support to industries that are rapidly evolving and need a workforce skilled in new technologies and sustainable practices - including the automotive, engineering, AI and digital, healthcare and logistics sectors.
It has new engineering facilities designed to meet modern industry demands, while solar power and air source heat pump resources ensure students are trained in future-ready skills.
Other specialised facilities include a hospital training ward, electrical tuition spaces and advanced engineering workshops, to equip students with practical, in-demand skills.
Key facilities and capabilities
The college's success is built on bridging the gap between education and employment by offering hands-on learning in true business environments.
Facilities are tailored to meet industry needs, such as the MIRA Technology Institute (MTI), where future automotive engineers are trained in cutting-edge technologies to help design and build electric and driverless vehicles.
The Digital Skills Academy prepares students for fast-paced changes to the digital world, while its Centre for Logistics, Education and Research (CLEAR) at Magna Park, near Lutterworth, delivers skills training in logistics and supply chain management, in collaboration with industry leaders like Wincanton.
These facilities, along with their Wigston and Harrowbrook campuses, provide students with real-life work experiences and ensure businesses have access to a skilled, ready-to-work talent pool.

The MTI is a purpose-built centre - at the vast HORIBA MIRA vehicle research facility near Hinckley - created to deliver the high-quality level if automotive training.
It offers accredited programmes from Level 2 to Level 8 (doctorate level) as well as bespoke courses and continuing professional development opportunities.
It develops apprentices through to chartered engineers, providing access to a unique skills escalator, enabling progress to higher and degree level apprenticeships and beyond.
